What we offer

Doodle offers a variety of creative services to businesses, communities, schools, and charities. Using art and design to target and meet your objectives, Doodle’s strengths lie in strategic leadership, project management and authentic public consultation with the community at its heart.

If you are interested in Doodle running a project for your organisation, please get in touch.

Workshops

1

From spray can art to ceramics, Doodle offer a huge range of creative workshops for children and young people, community groups and the general public. We have run sessions in primary and secondary schools, youth clubs, shopping centres, launderettes and even train platform waiting rooms!

Teaching and sharing art skills through workshops is something we love and have been doing for a very long time. We work with a huge variety of organisations to deliver workshops; from schools to local councils, youth services to adult community groups, the general public to invite-only sessions. To us, any setting can be a creative one. Our pop-up/pop-down style of working means we provide all resources and everything needed to run the workshop, then at the end we fully clear up leaving no trace - other than the artwork produced!

Workshops we’ve run previously include: spray can art, clay and ceramics, mosaics, participatory murals, 3D design, portfolio and sketchbook, textiles, leaded glass, marbling and ink, Indian block printing, paper bead making, art with recycled materials, collage, felt making, t-shirt/tote bag design and stencil art. We are always keen to explore new mediums/themes to expand what we can offer and are very happy to follow your brief/ideas or work on something new. Explore some of our recent workshops here.

Cultural Projects

2

As well as our workshops, we love to get stuck in to bigger scale community projects that create public art for all. From meaningful community engagement and consultation through to design and delivery, you’ll see our legacy artwork throughout Edmonton and beyond.

Doodle delivers large-scale public realm legacy artwork and design through our cultural projects. We work on commissions by starting with authentic community consultation and engagement to inspire and gather ideas, through to creating and delivering designs that are relevant, vibrant and reflective of the community experience that they inhabit.

Recent projects include the design and installation of the Mondrian-inspired play area at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre and the Fore Street Mural project - the creation of two large scale murals depicting the historical and cultural significance of a local 100-year-old fruit and veg stall. We’ve also recently collaborated with local communities to create participatory mural signage for Angel Community Gardens N18 , Exodus Youth Hub and Churchfield School’s outdoor learning space.

Alongside Doodle’s commissioned cultural projects, we are proactive in creating our own not-for-profit passion projects that benefit our community. We identify areas of need and where required, apply for subsidised funding to be able to run free activities for local people. This has recently included the establishment of a regular Edmonton Playstreet for families, and the founding Edmonton Parents Get Together, an online support network for those raising their children in N19 and N18.

Mentoring

3

Doodle provides a mentoring service for individuals wanting to develop professionally. With our unique approach blending both creative and education skills, we are able to support teachers, school staff, artists and entrepreneurs to explore and reach their career goals in a sustainable and empowering way.

Doodle offers a robust mentoring support programme for individuals wanting to develop professionally, on both a long-term and project-by-project basis. Drawing on over 20 years of extensive experience of teaching, leadership, art and design as well as being a self employed small business, the intersection of Christina's creative, employment and pedagogical skills allow her to uniquely approach mentoring across a broad range of sectors, in a style that is skills, knowledge and processes rich.

We support Early Careers teachers and middle/senior leaders to develop professionally; to improve performance, we are experienced in delivering PGCE placement support, NQT and ECT mentoring and as well as in-school coaching courses for all school staff.

As creative professionals ourselves, we also offer mentoring support for artists and entrepreneurs to explore and achieve their development and career goals. Doodle is currently part of Arts Council England’s pilot programme for young people becoming Public Art Champions within their communities.
