Edmonton Green Playground & Library
Doodle was commissioned by Edmonton Green Shopping Centre to design and paint a Little Free Library (an international scheme where the public can donate and take books for free). Launched on World Book Day 2021, the brief was to colourfully convey a love of reading and sharing and increasing local peoples’ access to books, as well as encompass the NHS rainbow that was a symbol of hope for the nation during the Covid pandemic.
Following this project, we then went on to transform Edmonton Green Shopping Centre’s North Square into an interactive play area that not only complemented their existing playground but made use of the floorspace in a creative way. Inspired by the work of Mondrian, we utilised the paving slab grid to create various intersecting playspaces using bold primary colours, letters and shapes that can be accessed by all.
