Curate Enfield
Doodle is currently part of Curate Enfield - Arts Council England’s pilot grassroots programme for young people becoming Public Art Champions within their communities. We are currently mentoring two young Public Art Champions to curate two of the five new public commissioned artworks for the borough, in the Angel Edmonton and Edmonton Green town centres. Our goal is to grow creative capacity through offering skills development opportunities for the young people we mentor.
As Artist-Mentors, we work alongside our Public Art Champions to support selecting the sites they would like to see transformed and enriched by public art, and assist with planning and devising authentic consultation with their local communities for ideas and feedback. We also share our knowledge and skills to support the Champions in developing artist briefs for the commissions, coaching them through each part of the creative process in an empowering and sustainable way.
Curate Enfield is part of the Create Enfield programme, which aims to spotlight Enfield’s vibrant communities and artworks, help develop local town centres and highly populated areas into vibrant and inclusive spaces, attract new artists and creatives, and promote the borough as a place filled with rich cultural experiences for all to enjoy.
